This November 2022, proud supporter of the United States Military and Armed Forces and their families, Val DiGiorgio, celebrates Military Family Appreciation Month.
In recent years, the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) has recognized the month of November as National Veterans and Military Families Month. As not only a supporter of the military, but a proud member of a military family himself, Val DiGiorgio eagerly anticipates this honorary month each year. The philanthropist embraces the occasion as an opportunity to start the holiday season off right by sharing his support for organizations and nonprofits that provide resources and assistance to military families in need. The following nonprofits are available year-round to offer relief for families facing unique challenges and hardships:
Nonprofits Supporting Military Families and Veterans
Fisher House Foundation
Founded in 1990, Fisher House Foundation provides free housing to family members, loved ones and personal caregivers of veterans and active duty military professionals currently receiving care at a VA or equivalent medical center.
Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation
Established in 2022, Children of Fallen Patriots is a scholarship program created in honor of military members killed in the line of duty. Each year, several scholarships are awarded to the college bound children of these fallen heroes.
Blue Star Families
Since 2009, Blue Star Families has empowered active duty members, veterans and their families with access to resources that make transition to civilian life less stressful. Developed by military spouses, Blue Star believes that families deserve support lifelong — even after embracing retirement. Val DiGiorgio proudly agrees with the sentiment that veterans and their families are lifelong heroes!
