$3M Grant to Bob Woodruff Foundation
A recent multi-year investment is making headlines in the nonprofit world—and for good reason. Bread Financial has committed $3 million over three years to the Bob Woodruff Foundation to support the mental health needs of children in military families.
This funding will help close a critical gap in services by providing:
- Direct clinical mental health care
- Training programs for clinicians who serve military families
- Wellness initiatives that promote emotional support and community connection
According to a recent survey of the Got Your 6 Network, more than 70% of local organizations reported increased demand for mental health services among military families. Yet only 13% said they had the resources to meet those needs. This new partnership aims to change that.
“For children in military and veteran families, mental health challenges are compounded by frequent moves, deployments, and barriers to care,” said Ralph Andretta, CEO of Bread Financial and Board Member at the Bob Woodruff Foundation.

This initiative reflects a broader truth: supporting military families means going beyond parades and recognition. It’s about showing up for them in practical, long-term ways.
As someone who is dedicated to service, I believe efforts like these make a difference—not just for individuals, but for entire communities. Carolina and I have long supported causes that serve military and law enforcement families, including a scholarship for their children. We’ve seen firsthand how much these programs matter.
Mental health care is not a luxury—it’s a necessity. Especially for children navigating the pressures of military life.
Programs like this are a reminder that strong partnerships between nonprofits and socially responsible businesses can move the needle in meaningful ways.
Let’s continue to uplift the people who serve our country by supporting the families who serve right alongside them.
